In the summer, I have to admit that I drink a lot less tea. I brew a light herbal tea in the morning and I leave it on the table and drink it just warm or cold throughout the day. But when it gets a little cool outside, I need hot herbal tea 2 to 4 times a day.

I really love chai tea, especially rooibos chai herbal teas which are caffeine free and the rooibos taste wonderful with the spices. As I try different brands and spices, I will add them on this page.

 PROS  CONS
    • No artificial or natural flavors added.
    • Light spicy taste
    • Easy to make
    • 100% natural ingredients
    • Made in USA
    • Caffeine free
    • Gluten-free
  •  Weak taste
  • Short list of spices
  • Not certified organic

How I made it : I brewed the tea in a cup with 250 ml of water for 5 minutes and I did not add any sugar or milk. Preheat your cup before with hot water so that your tea stays warm for longer.

My opinion : If you like a light chai tea, this one is perfect. I personally enjoy when it is a little bit more spicy with cardamom and black pepper, but this is a very nice and enjoyable chai tea with a unique flavor. The sweet cinnamon taste is quite present.

Ideas and suggestions : This tea would be good with milk and I would add a pinch of crushed cardamom seeds straight in the cup. Also, because of the cinnamon taste, it would be a very nice tea to add to a recipe. Why not infuse milk with this tea in a spicy cake/cookie recipe. That’s a big, big yes ! If you want to make ice tea with it, brew with two bags.

  •  Is there any ? It is a matter of taste. For those who do not like the licorice or fennel taste, this one is not for you.

Suggestion :
I would take this exact blend and mix it with some loose Rooibos tea. Add 2 oz of hot milk (or dairy substitute), and sweeten with honey or sugar to taste.

Loose herbal tea : to brew the tea you need an infuser.

This combination of organic herbs and spices creates a delicious and uniquely different type of chai. Without being blended with black or green teas, it’s also caffeine-free. It’s a combination of sweet and zesty organic spices including cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and licorice. It’s a refreshing, spicy beverage with a soothing finish that is both healthful and full of flavor. Chai Tea is usually sweetened, so try adding a pinch of stevia, a dash of vanilla, or even milk. It tastes great whether served hot or cold! Caffeine-Free.

  1. Such a good review! I do have a question, I saw that one of the cons is that this is not certified organic. Can I ask which is your favorite tea that is certified organic? Thanks

  2. Yum! I love rooibos tea and the aroma is really something special. I have a special rooibos blend and it reminds me of smell of good quality coffee. It’s a mix of vanilla and oranges so it’s interesting how it reminds me of coffee.

I also find it interesting how the first ingredient in this tea is cinnamon and not rooibos. I guess that’s why the tea is weak because Roobois is the second ingredient?

Also, does it really matter if the tea is organic or not? Is there a difference in health benefits or in quality? Eastern Europeans have always been drinking non-organic herbal teas and I’ve never anyone getting cancer because of that and organic herbal teas are so expensive. I would love to know!

    1. Hi Vanessa ! Thanks for your great comment. That makes sense what you say about the cinnamon being the first ingredient, it probably makes it a little weaker.
As far as your question about organic teas, it doesn’t really matter as far as health concerns in my opinion, organic or not. Organic teas are often more expensive (not always), so it is not always an option for everyone and that’s ok.

What I do appreciate about organic teas is that they are grown in a sustainable way / environment-friendly and the companies make an effort to follow so many rules to be certified organic to have quality products without residue of pesticides. I like to encourage companies that work in that direction also. When a product is USDA certified, it is really regulated. Here is the website of USDA. So I do understand why they can be more expensive. In the end, it is a personal choice. It did not stop me from drinking this non-organic tea, to really enjoy it and I have no worries at all.

      Thanks for visiting !

      1. I just found this one by Stash, which is organic. Stash does have a bunch of organic flavors also. I recommend to check out the ingredients on this herbal chai tea, it looks super delicious with turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, ginger and ORANGE peel, yes ! This one is next on my list ! Find it here

  3. Thank you for giving more details on chai tea. I’m a green tea lover, 4-6 cups a day, but now I’m looking on trying this chai tea. What I look for a tea is the 100% natural ingredients and thanks for letting me know. Very informative post.
